hey, doll
Their faces are mirrors, the jointed women in our dining room. Watching us eat Cheerios and sticky buns this morning, one was pensive and a little melancholy while her sister (who had thought to put on jewelry) saw the crow outside and remembered a black-coated man and that dance.

ha! I have to get used to the subscription notification…the subject line was “hey, doll” which I took to mean a personal note from you to me. Well, it sort of is and sort of not, but enjoyed it all the same.

What a beautiful place you’ve got here…
10.24.2011 - 10:00 pm
Found you!! Gorgeous site! Many people who access with iphones or ipads may have a problem loading these images, though. I try to keep my site as simple as possible for them. I ADORE the photo of the dolls. Are they really yours??
10.24.2011 - 11:15 pm
brazenP: it’s a balancing act, i know. i haven’t had any problem on my iPad, so …
yep, the dolls are in the dining room waiting for breakfast. i have to look up what they’re called; it’s spanish. i *love* them.

Congratulations on such a nice place here. Like barry, I thought “hey doll” was talking to me. Thanks, Doll.

I’ve dropped by and looked at these dolls 3 times wondering how/what to comment because late at night, when the Forte’s are sleeping, I see them doing a pirouette.
p.s. any ideas on how to get rid of the “grey head?’
10.25.2011 - 5:18 pm
begone greyhead!! go to http://www.en.gravatar.com and sign up, upload a photo. it’s linked to an email address that you use when you’re roaming around on sites (wordpress and others), so it’s sort of always on.
thanks, everybody. glad you like the wooden chiquitas. the bodies are interesting too. maybe another post …

::gasp!:: Those are like a artist’s canvas…it would take every ounce of my limited self-control not to buy them their own wardrobe. You have the coolest stuff (and people!) in Casa de Swell.xoxo

Oh, I love these and the one in the foreground reminds me of our friend Joan, no?
10.26.2011 - 5:27 pm
LC: i want to *paint* them. good thing my hands are tied down. cool is the name of the game, kiddo.
10.26.2011 - 5:28 pm
sharon, she is very joan-like with that pretty hepburnish face, isn’t she? nice to see you.

Those ladies are kinda scary with their Mona Lisa smiles. Remind me some day to tell you how when I did windows, I broke the leg of a mannequin who refused to let me pull up a nice pair of leather pants, resulting in breaking her leg and duct taping, like I was the wise guy of Visual Merchandising.
So how do I get my little heron pic on this? Do I have to enroll in something?
xo,
Green

Hi, I thought that this is probably a good place to touch base and let you know, if I attempt to view your RSS I get a error: “XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity”. I hope if it is something on your end that you can repair it: I would very much like to sign up to your feed to Netvibes. Hoping to be able to do so soon – Best Rgds, Mariette Ogen in Laiwu

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll have the tech people see if there’s a problem on this end and will get back to you. Candace

hi, mariette. netvibes is picking up an old URL from when adobe soup was in site development (when it existed on the designer’s server), so it’s not finding the *real* adobe soup. if you can, manually enter http://www.adobesoup.com, and all should be well. ps: i tried to email you but the address you entered had an error so it failed. sorry! hope you can access the feed.:)
