mixing men, a dream(y) soup
Sorry, but this post wasn’t ready for prime time, so I took it down. That’ll teach me to made editing decisions in the middle of the night.
The photograph is completely unrelated to the subject of the removed essay, but I like it. It’s the sheep meadow just south of the Mission Ranch in Carmel, California, and the girl is my granddaughter Simone. She was wearing a feather headband in recognition of the terrific style of her great-grandmother Margery Mann. We were there after Marge died for her big send-off on a rainy day in November of 2010.

Ack! I missed your editorial gaffe!
Well, I hope you eventually re-post it after you’re happy with it. But that photo – that is just an awesome shot, Candace! It is almost as though Simone is making sure Marge has her spirit guide with her.
Great shot – GREAT shot.

I couldn’t conceive of a more perfect place to take flight from – Marge must’ve been delighted to see Simone’s tribute as she went.

A beautiful photo of beautiful child at a tender moment. The fact the we get thelandscape through her eyes makes it all the more rich.

I’ve come back to this at least half a dozen times and still don’t have the right words.
