COMMIT: Bama Picks Up Top Tight End

Despite a slow start to the season, Alabama tight end Jahleel Billingsley has looked really good the last couple of weeks. Now in his third season, might he make the jump to the NFL after the season? It seems Nick Saban is taking no chances.

On Friday, Alabama received a commitment from the nation’s top ranked tight end Jaleel Skinner. The high 4-star plays for IMG but hails from Greer, South Carolina. Much like Billingsley, he plays the position as a flex TE/WR hybrid mismatch who can split out wide. At 6’5”/210 with an 80 inch wingspan, Skinner is about the same size Billingsley was as a recruit. Hudl says he has run a 4.44 in the 40 which is the same number Kyle Pitts ran at his Pro Day last spring. At 34 inches, his vertical leap was half an inch more than Pitts.

Not to get too Gumpy and lay too much expectations on this kid, but dang does he look good. Fast, strong, long and lean. He will need to put on some weight and polish his blocking skills but he has great potential. Granted the South Carolina high school competition in this video is not on his level but you can still see the possibilities.

The nation’s #74 prospect joins TE Elijah Brown and TE/WR Amari Niblack in the 2022 class.

Skinner had been flirting with the idea of signing with FSU but their season implosion has quashed those thoughts. Nearby Clemson looked like a leader 12 months ago. Also considered were Florida, Texas, and Miami who he officially visited in June. Charles Kelly gets another win for this pledge.

Roll Tide, young man.

Wish him the best and pray decision works for
him and his family.

I’m loving how Bama offense is using tight ends

Especially since there seems to be such an inexplicable "take the top off" play style, being able to constantly confuse linebackers and safeties no doubt has helped the Bama running game. Is it possible for Bama to have two tight ends taken on the first day of the draft?!?!?
Welcome aboard, Mr. Skinner! RTR!!!

Vaults us to #1 in the 2022 Recruiting Class Rankings and we only have 16 commits! LOL

"We're gonna beat [Alabama's] ass in recruiting!"

I meant Cajun

what's the difference?

Quite a lot, actually.

Gonna edumacate myself then

I'm upset that coonass is reserved for cajuns and not creole

So, we can take another 16 this year.

32 is the number this year. But only can have 85. Transfer in the future for some players on the team. Better not get in Saban’s doghouse.

Pretty sure you can only take the extra recruits

if you have an equal number of players transfer out.

CNS knows ALL the rules. Trust in the process.

We may end up with the all-time greatest class.

Fingers crossed.

We may end up with the all-time greatest class again.

FTFY

It tickles the ish out of me

to not see fthatosu in there

From Jahleel to Jaleel

I like it!

Hopefully this one is as good as the current one.

but maybe a better blocker?

His actual major downside

Is how physical he plays. Scouting reports all conclude he needs to become a better blocker to become better all around TE.

There’s also message board rumors FSU pulled his offer because he had some "attitude issues" on his last visit. If it’s turn, I’m not worried about it, CNS isn’t a stranger.

He saw them play and got an attitude?

Checks out…

Future Jahleel Billingsley?!?!?!?

Need to hashtag that!
#FJB!
clap, clap, clapclapclap!
